The purpose of the course is to support students in building their own creative identity and developing their own tools so that they reflect the interpretative logic of their vision and their cultural references. These personal tools will materialize in the definition of transformation rules, and therefore of algorithms that will represent the identity of each individual student as creative.

This course is intended to give an introduction to quantum computing, with examples related to artistic creation. It constititutes a proposal for a future version of @postasis platform. 

Use of @postasis platform for art exhibitions. The case study of Pantelis Xagoraris (EN / GR)

Admin Apostasis

This course – case study illustrates how a Fine Arts Professor / Instructor or a Contemporary Art curator may organize, inside @postasis platform, a visual art exhibition, or the creation of an artwork, and develop a course or seminar based the specific artistic action, as to creation and presentation.

A case study is developed which presents Pantelis Xagoraris, one of the most pioneers in Digital Arts in Greece and worldwide, who developed real-time actions with digital technology of the 70s.

For the needs of the virtual exhibition – constituting also a course space, a collaboration is established between two visual arts professors of Athens School of Fine Arts (Zafos Xagoraris, Manthos Santorineos), a curator-researcher of the National Museum of Contemporary Art (Stamatis Schizakis), and a computer scientist-researcher, Instructor of Athens School of Fine Arts (Stavroula Zoi).

The course explores the notions of randomness and chaos through the use of the @postasis Behavior Interactive Interface (BII) plug-in project. It explains the theoretical groundwork and the methodology underlying the conception of BII and provides an insight on how to use it to set up in real-time a chaotic or deterministic dynamic system.
